Stain Removal Tips
How to Get Out Candle Wax
First thing is to fill ice in a
sandwich bag and dry the wax completely by setting the ice
bag on the affected spot. Place a towel over it to
concentrate the coldness to the spot. Leave it applied until the wax is very
dry and brittle, then take a blunt knife or the end of a
credit card and slowly scrape off the excess wax. The most important thing is not to
press too hard or be too abrasive as you will cause damage
to the piece of furniture or area of carpet. Never
overwork the area, if in doubt call Redline Carpet and
Upholstery Cleaning at 509-362-7755.
Removing Chewing
Gum from Carpet
Try and take off as much as possible
by hand, but do not scrape at
it when it is still moist as you can cause more damage. Fill
a sandwich bag with ice cubes and rub them slowly over the
gum for about 5 minutes, the gum will then become easier to
remove. Keep doing this until the gum has come away
completely, if necessary replenish the ice. Do not overwork
the area, if in doubt call Redline Carpet Cleaning at
509-362-7755.
First Aid for Coffee and Dark Liquid Stains
Take a dry white cloth and blot the affected area
until all of the moisture has been taken out. Then mix a small amount of
washing up detergent (mix 1/4 tsp with 16oz of water) with warm water
and gently rub over the affected area, blot and dry. Finally mix some
white vinegar with water and again blot gently over the affected area
until the carpet has been restored to its original color. Call Redline

Grease Stain Removal from Carpet
Try this tip when cleaning carpet stains:
Apply a generous layer of baking soda or cornstarch to greasy spots and
leave overnight. After vacuuming, the grease should be somewhat absorbed. If
there is any residue or discoloration left behind, blot with vinegar
until the stain is lifted. A dishwashing liquid (1/4 tsp to 16 ounces of
water) will aid removing some grease carpet stains. Blot until the stain is removed. Blot again
with a damp sponge to rinse.
